Written by Seo Hyun-seok, “Coffee and Hypnotic” was created with the objective of utilizing not only the theater, but also Seoullo 7017. Seo, who was commissioned with the work, said he first began writing the piece thinking how people who had used the bridge back in times gone by perceive the place now?This interactive theater performance invites one audience member at a time to a tea house in Gyeongseong Station in 1930 Seoul. (Gyeongseong is an old name for Seoul.) 27~28일 통합국방협의체 회의 계기로 억제전략위 열려美 "한국에 대한 확장억제 재확인…동맹 방위태세 강화"한미 해병대 상륙훈련. 2018.4.3/뉴스1 © News1 최창호 기자(서울=뉴스1) 장용석 기자 = 한미 군 당국이 27~28일 서울에서 열린 제20차 한미통합국방협의체(KIDD) 회의를 계기로 확장억제수단 운용연습(TTX)을 실시했다고 밝혔다.우리나라와 미국 국방부는 28일 KIDD 회의 결과를 담은 공동보도문에서 이번 회의 기간 한미억제전략위원회(DSC)를 개최했다며 이같이 전했다.TTX란 북한의 핵·대량살상무기(WMD)·미사일 등 위협에 대한 한미 양국의 억제·대응 연습이다. 여기엔 미국의 핵우산 제공과 유사시 대북 선제타격 등에 대한 내용도 포함돼 있는 것으로 알려져 있다.한미 양측의 이번 TTX는 최근 북한의 연이은 미사일 발사와도 관련이 있는 것으로 보인다. 북한은 이달 들어서만 11~12일 신형 장거리 순항미사일 시험발사와 15일 철도기동미사일연대 사격훈련에 따른 단거리 탄도미사일 발사, 그리고 28일 단거리미사일 추정 발사체 발사에 이르기까지 모두 3차례 무력시위를 벌였다.이와 관련 한미 양측은 공동보도문에서 이번 DSC를 통해 "역동적인 역내 안보 환경 속에서 핵·WMD·미사일 등 북한의 위협에 대응하기 위해 동맹의 맞춤형 억제를 강화하는 연합 억제 및 대응 개념을 논의했다"고 전했다.특히 미국 측은 이번 DSC에서 "핵과 재래식 능력을 포함한 모든 범주의 군사능력을 운용해 대한민국에 확장억제를 제공할 것"이란 공약을 재확인했다. 우리 측 또한 "북한의 위협 억제· 대응을 위해 한국군의 핵·WMD 대응체계를 지속적으로 발전시켜 나가겠다"는 입장을 거듭 밝혔다.27일 서울 용산구 국방부 청사에서 제20차 한미통합국방협의체(KIDD) 회의가 열리고 있다. (국방일보 제공) © 뉴스1한미 양측은 또 이번 DSC 회의에서 미국의 핵태세검토보고서(NPR) 및 미사일방어검토보고서(MDR)에 대해서도 논의했다고 밝혔다. 미 정부는 내년 1월 발간할 NPR에 북한의 단거리 탄도미사일을 핵위협 가운데 하나로 포함시키는 방안을 검토 중인 것으로 알려져 있다. 북한이 사거리 600~800㎞ 신형 단거리탄도미사일을 전술핵무기 투발수단으로 개발하고 있다는 판단에서다.한미 양측은 이번 KIDD 회의에서도 북한의 최근 연이은 미사일 발사와 관련해 "전방위적 위협에 대응하기 위한 한미동맹의 방위태세 강화방안을 모색한다"는 데 의견을 모았다. 아울러 한미 양측은 Δ한반도의 완전한 비핵화와 항구적 평화정착이란 공동 목표를 재확인하고, Δ한미연합군이 한국을 방어할 수 있는 준비태세를 지속 유지해 나가기로 했다고 밝혔다.다만 양측은 북한과의 "외교·대화를 재개하는 게 중요하다"는 점 또한 강조했다.이와 관련 한미 양측은 2018년 '9·19 군사분야 남북합의서'와 주한유엔군사령부의 지속적인 정전협정 집행·관리가 한반도 평화·안정에 기여했다고 평가했다.이번 KIDD 회의엔 우리 측에선 김만기 국방부 국방정책실장이, 미국 측에선 싯다르트 모한다스 동아시아 부차관보가 양국 대표로 참석했다.
